As the weather gets colder and Halloween festivities abound, October has been an exciting month for Kimble and our customers. Here’s a recap of the key tips we highlighted this month!

Give Your Jack-o-Lantern a Second Life

This Halloween, consider feeding your jack-o-lantern to local wildlife! Here’s how to do it safely and effectively:

  • Remove Non-Edible Parts: Be sure to take out any candles or decorations.

  • Cut into Pieces: Chop the pumpkin into smaller chunks for easier eating.

  • Place in a Safe Spot: Choose a quiet area away from busy roads.

  • Attract Various Wildlife: Leave it out for squirrels, deer, and birds to enjoy!

Fire Starters Made from Recycled Materials

As the leaves turn and the nights get cozier, it’s the perfect time to get creative with recycling! This week, let’s talk about making eco-friendly fire starters using cardboard egg cartons, dryer lint, and wax. Not only does this tip help reduce waste, but it also creates a warm, inviting fire to enjoy with friends and family this fall. Remember, use only cardboard egg cartons for this project—Styrofoam cartons should not be burned.
